Our screening process

 

At sitr, your child’s safety and happiness are our top priority. That’s why every sitter who joins our team goes through a thorough screening process to ensure they meet our high standards of trustworthiness, professionalism, and care.

We want you to feel confident that your little ones are in good hands, which is why we carefully vet every potential sitter. Here's what our screening process includes:

 

  • Initial video call to assess if the sitter is a good fit for our team.
  • Personal interview with team member to understand their experience and personality.
  • Reference check to verify their babysitting history.
  • Valid Certificate of Good Conduct to ensure a clean record.
  • Completion of online First Aid training for babies and children.

 

In addition, sitters must register online and provide personal details, including contact information and a copy of their ID. We maintain regular communication with our team—sometimes even daily—to ensure consistency and reliability.

Please note that sitters without babysitting experience or the ability to provide two references cannot join the sitr. team.

With our rigorous process, we aim to provide you with sitters who are not only qualified but also reliable and ready to make every moment with your child special.

FAQ

How can I book a sitter?

If you want to book a babysitter for the first time, we ask you to register online first. During registration you can place a booking request and we will match you with an available babysitter of your choice.

What if I don't see any sitter available in the booking system?

If you don't see any availability in the booking system, you can place a booking request and we will contact you via WhatsApp and do our best to find a suitable babysitter for you.

How far in advance should I book a babysitter?

We suggest to book a sitter a least three days in advance to make sure there is availability.

In busy periods around major events or in the months of November and December, we even recommend booking at least a week in advance.

Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee availability for last minute (same day) requests.

Are the babysitters certified in First Aid?

We provide all sitters with basic knowledge of First Aid for babies and children through online first aid training. Some babysitters also have an official First Aid certificate.

Do I need to pay when I register online?

No, you don't have to pay when you register in our online booking system. This registration in only to have your information and to place future booking requests.

Have all babysitters been screened?

Yes, all sitters in our team are screened. We carry out a background check and request a Certificate of Good Conduct. We check their references and are in possession of personal data including a resumé and valid ID. In addition, we know all sitters personally and there is regular contact and in-personal meetings with each of them.
